Close to a number of historical sites and attractions, this park can be an ideal place to stay while you take advantage of the many sights and sounds of the port area. The staff works tirelessly to keep the camp as clean as possible, and that includes the amenities! There is a kitchen area, a games room to pass the time, and a pool for cooling off after your adventures. In addition, you'll find playground equipment for the kids, a laundry, barbecues, and even a place to fill up your LPG gas. Wi-Fi is available as well.

Nuttbush Retreat – Caravan Park and Function Centre

Port Augusta, South Australia

This park is located roughly 40 km to the west of Port Augusta, right on the Pandurra Station Homestead. It offers a more rural atmosphere that provides visitors with a true outback experience as they adventure throughout the region. There's a relaxing pool and spa, pool tables, and a recreation room with television. It's a family-owned park, operated by the Nutt family. The park has a camp kitchen, facilities for the disabled, laundry, power, and drive through sites to make parking and exiting as easy as possible. The park is close to a variety of the area's main attractions, making it a great home base for your visit!

$22/night for up to 2 persons, unpowered site; $30/night for up to 2 persons, powered site; $7/night for each additional person on site.

Free Camping / Low Cost Camping

If you're just looking for free sites to set up camp for the night, the area is quite accommodating. There are a number of rest areas along the highways in the region, with some within a half-hour of town. Mambray Creek Rest Area is one example. Located just 48 km south of Port Augusta, it provides camping areas on both sides of the highway. It has picnic tables, shade, and room for your caravan. It's also an overnight stay location, so feel free to relax and unwind for the night before you set out on your adventure the next day!
