1. By entering this competition, Contestants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

ENTRY

6. To enter, Contestants must submit their story on the website by November 14th 2016 at 5.00pm.

7. The story must not include any personal details that the contestant does not want shared on the Caravan RV Camping website.

8. Submit your story on the competition website and fill out your contact details.

PRIZE

9. There will be one (1) winner chosen by random draw and must be a valid story entry. The winner will receive:

• One (1) Caravan RV Camping Gift Voucher, valued at $200

10. The Gift Voucher expires 12 months from when the Promoter sends it to the winner.

11. The Promoter takes no responsibility for the expiry of the prize.

12. Prizes are non-transferable and can’t be redeemed for cash. If the specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter may substitute a prize of similar nature and/or like or greater value.

PROMOTION PERIOD

13. The competition commences October 17th, 2016 and closes at 5:00pm Monday November 14th, 2016 (“Promotion Period”). Entries received after the promotion period will be deemed as invalid.

ELIGIBILITY LIMITATIONS

14. The following persons are ineligible to enter:

• Employees of, or contractors to, the Promoter as far as they are directly associated with this competition;

• The spouse, de facto spouse, parent, natural or adopted child, and sibling (whether natural or adopted by a parent), of such employees and contractors (whether or not they live in the same household);

• Contestants who have used or attempted to use any more than one name in order to qualify to win any contest run by the Promoter except in the case of a legal change of name.

15. All Contestants acknowledge that even if the Promoter only learns of a person’s ineligibility after the Promoter has appeared to award the prize to the ineligible person, it may require the return of the prize or payment of its value to the Promoter to be dealt with as an unclaimed prize.

PRIZE DRAW

16. The prize winners will be selected by random draw at the Caravan RV Camping office, 72 Meridan Way, Meridan Plains Qld 4551 on Tuesday November 15th, 2016 and prizes awarded following winner validation and verification. Winners will be contacted by telephone and/or email. If the Promoter is unable to get in touch with the winner, the original winner foregoes the prize and there will be a redraw every Monday until a winner redeems the prize.

17. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

18. Winners will be published on the Caravan RV Camping Facebook Page once the prize has been redeemed.

19. Prize will be emailed to the winner at the email address provided upon competition entry.

For some campers, purchasing spare parts can be a stressful experience. They’re never sure whether they are buying what they truly need or whether the piece will be compatible with their particular caravan.

There’s absolutely no reason that obtaining spare caravan parts should be this stressful. To help you out along your replacement journey, the following few paragraphs will be offering some worthwhile tips to help you pick the right replacement piece the first time.

What Needs to be Replaced?

At one point or another, there will be certain parts of your RV that will need to be replaced.

What parts will need a replacement will ultimately depend on how your use your RV.

A few commonly replaced parts include weather seals, hinges, latches, and locks. 

What Type of Caravan or RV?

If you already know what caravan part needs replacing, your next step is determining your caravan’s type. Most caravans can be categorized into one of the following categories:

Whether you’re seeking spare parts for caravans, or caravan accessories and appliances, the same process applies. You will first want to know the exact brand and model of the appliance in question. Even though all caravan fridges may seem identical to you, there are often quite a few differences between brand names and various model lines.

You should know both the brand name and model of whatever appliance you are hoping to repair to ensure that you purchase the right piece the first time. Like caravan manufacturers, many accessory manufacturers also offer sell spare parts via their business website.

If, for example, you are looking for Camec caravan parts for a Camec-branded appliance, you could simply make your way over to the Camec website to browse their extended catalogue of spare parts.

Competitor Pricing

Once you’ve browsed the manufacturer website to find the exact piece you need, you can also check out competitor prices. Type the part name into Google to browse offerings from other retailers. Be sure to match the manufacturer product SKU to the SKU advertised on the competitor website to ensure that you are buying the correct item. 

Although turning on the faucet to odd smelling water or no water at all can be a scary and unexpected experience, oftentimes problems with systems using submersible pumps can be solved via proper maintenance and basic troubleshooting. Here are a few troubleshooting steps for when you are not getting any running water from the tap of your caravan sink.

Please note: This article will only be covering caravan water systems using submersible pumps and NOT diaphragm pumps.

Troubleshooting

1. Try a spare pump

Although water systems using submersible pumps are the norm in the UK, once a submersible pump is broken they can oftentimes not be repaired. It is always recommended that you carry a spare pump with you on the road in case of emergencies. If your tap is not delivering any water, you should test the system using the spare pump to see if the original pump has somehow been damaged.

2. Check the fuses

Your water system is going to need a sufficient power supply to run properly. If you’ve tried your spare pump and still aren’t getting any water, you should verify that all fuses powering the water system are working properly.

3. Check the impeller

To function properly, submersible pumps require what is known as full priming to ensure adequate water pressure. The priming process demands that the pump’s paddle-like impeller be able to move water along the inlet pipe. If you can hear your impeller turning but are still not getting any water, it’s possible that trapped air bubbles are the problem. Newer water systems are equipped with integrated air release outlets to get rid of air bubbles for you.

If your system does not have an air release outlet, you can try detaching the pump from the caravan’s inlet socket. While the pump is still submerged, hit it against the side of the container to help get air bubbles out.

Maintenance

1. Routine cleaning

If the water to your caravan is coming out at a weak trickle, it’s possible that you have some type of debris caught in your impeller, making it hard for the impeller to spin.

You should always be maintaining the state of your water pipes and system by regularly cleaning them with specialized caravan sterilizing products. Ignoring routine sterilization can result in bizarre tasting and/or smelling water.

2. Keep your water container covered

Although it can seem like basic common sense, many new campers are not aware that they should be keeping their fresh water containers completely secure. Although some caravan water containers come equipped with a shroud, others do not.

If yours does not, you are advised to purchase one. Various manufacturers offer fabric versions with drawstrings to ensure that nothing will be polluting your water supply or getting caught in the impeller to cause further issues.

How does warranty work?
