How slowly do I need to drive over the scales?
The manual doesn't advise an exact speed, however it does need to be done slowly. If you are going too quick for the scales to register, it will show an icon of a jaguar on the screen.

Can this be used to measure the weight of a dual axel caravan?
Yes! It will work with both single and dual axel. You will need to select Mode 1 for single and Mode 2 for dual axel.

Can this be used for a car with 17-inch tires? In other words, will this larger tire fit on the scales? I was actually wondering if the larger footprint of the car tire might be partially on the ramp causing some load shedding?
There is no tire height requirement for this scale. The larger footprint will be fine; you slowly drive over the scale, so there will be some tire on either side.
