It is recommended to only use this charger with a 180A + alternator.

Why does the EN3DC100 require a 180A+ alternator?
The EN3DC100 is rated up to 100A output. A 180A alternator ensures there is enough capacity to run the vehicle's demands and not overload the alternator.

Does having a 180A alternator mean the charger will provide 100A continually?
No, the charger will only supply what it is set to and what is required to charge/maintain the battery.
