Q & A
-
What if the cutout/opening is too big or too small?
If the opening is bigger than 365 x 365mm, you will need to have spacers installed. If the opening is smaller than 358x358mm, it needs to be enlarged.
-
Does the unit have a Bluetooth feature?
The unit can be operated with a smart phone, as long as its Bluetooth is turned on and the AC is within Bluetooth range and has power. The MyCOOLMAN Air Conditioner App can be downloaded from Google Play Store or APP Store, and used to control and operate the AC unit.
-
How often should I check the seal between the rooftop air conditioner and roof of the vehicle?
This should be checked for cracks and other damage at least once per year.
-
Is the myCOOLMAN 2700i roof top ac reverse cycle?
Yes, the myCOOLMAN CCA2700i is a reverse cycle air conditioner.
- Cooling Capacity: 2700W
- Heating Capacity: 2500W
-
How can I get the best performance out of my myCOOLMAN caravan air conditioner?
To maximize your unit's performance, efficiency, and lifespan, keep cool air in by ensuring your caravan is well-insulated and parked in the shade. This drastically lowers energy consumption and extends your battery runtime when operating on an inverter. Additionally, you should fit reflective window shades to block solar heat and roll out your awning to keep the hot sun off the caravan's panels.
-
When should I turn on my air conditioner on a hot day?
On hot days, start your cooling early by closing all blinds, windows, vents, and doors first thing in the morning. Turn the air conditioner on as soon as possible so it can easily maintain a comfortable environment. This prevents the unit from having to work twice as hard to cool down a space that has already heated up.
-
How does the fan speed affect power consumption?
While a higher fan speed cools an area down quickly, a steady low speed efficiently maintains the temperature and reduces overall power consumption. The myCOOLMAN air conditioner is designed to automatically adjust its compressor speed to match the cooling required, which ensures it uses the least amount of energy necessary to maintain comfort.
-
Can I run my myCOOLMAN air conditioner off-grid, and how long will my battery last?
Yes, you can run this unit off-grid using a pure sine wave inverter or generator with a minimum requirement of 2000W. On average, the air conditioner consumes 60 to 80 amps per hour from a battery bank when running on cool mode at 22-23 degrees in 30-35 degree ambient temperatures. Depending on your lithium battery capacity, this translates to a safe recommended runtime of 1 hour for a 200ah battery up to 6 hours for a 900ah battery, leaving you with enough leftover power for other appliances. If you decide to run the battery completely to flat, your probable runtime will extend to 2-3 hours on a 200ah setup or up to 10-14 hours on a 900ah setup, though active charge inputs like solar will increase these runtimes further.
