Regarding the 12V gas detector, for use in a caravan, does it need to be wired to the caravan's battery? Also, where should it be located, e.g., across from the fridge and stove and as low as possible to the floor?
Since LPG is heavier than air, install the detector near the floor, typically 30 cm (12 inches) from the ground, just above skirting level. Place it as close as practical to gas appliances or potential leak sources (e.g., cooktops, gas heaters). It needs to be connected to a 12V DC power supply, usually via the RV or boat's battery system (Red wire = Positive (+12V), Black wire = Negative (Ground)). Use an inline fuse to protect the circuit.

Excellent product exactly as described, after reading reviews decided to put a switch on the power wire so I could turn it off, if went off by mistake. Glad I did as cleaning with metho it went off.
