  • What do I need to think about in regards of the ventilation with my Thetford compressor fridge?

    All the Thetford Compressor fridges are surrounded by a frame that has a built-in vent at the top or bottom of the fridge. This vent is used to expel warm air that has passed over the cooling unit system. The cooling unit system is built into the rear of the fridge. Cool air is pulled through the bottom of the fridge and passed across the cooling unit. The warm air is expelled out of the top vent on these models: T1090, T1152, T1274, T2152. The warm air is expelled out of the bottom vent on the T2175.

  • What do I need to know about installing my 12v compressor fridge in my van?

    Installation instructions will come with your 12V Compressor Fridge. The installation/manual document will also cover:

    • Recommended ventilation
    • Side and rear gap sizes for installing in your RV cavity
    • Mounting
    • Wiring

    Depending on the model, there will also be information regarding; maintenance, cleaning, defrosting, energy saving tips, reversible doors, inserting new door panels and troubleshooting.

  • Does the fridge auto select between 12v/24v?

  • Is the 274 litre comp unit self defrost ?

    Hey, great question!

    Unfortunately, this model is not self defrosting. 

  • We are doing the Cape at Easter time and looking to upgrade our fridge. How will the Thetford fridge hold up in heat and dust?

    The Thetford Compressor fridge range are all vented internally meaning no dust gets in externally. Thetford have improved their fan design to handle the Australian climate.

  • My old caravan fridge is noisy especially at night time. Is the Thetford fridge noisy?

    The Thetford Compressor fridges run more quietly than other brands and come with a night mode so you can sleep peacefully.
