Enerdrive Pro Series Lithium owners enjoy the benefits of running their air conditioning systems, microwave, toaster, kettle, induction cook tops, as well as more traditional loads in a typical caravan such as lights, water pump, TV etc.

These Enerdrive systems are easier than ever before to install.  The majority of the components are pre assemble and ready to go.  This makes for a fairly simple installation process. All you need to do is select which battery and battery monitor you prefer!

When the installation is complete you are required to complete the commission procedure in order to ensure the system is fitted correctly and the Enerdrive fail safes built in to the system are functional.

Run 240V Appliances From Your Caravan or RV Batteries:

Pair this system with a minimum 2000W inverter to run most normal household appliances and 240V electronics (see accessories list!) to make caravanning a lot more convenient and comfortable. You can run 240 volt appliances including Washing Machines, Coffee Machines, Hair Dryers, Fridges, Lights, Computers, TV's, Hot Water Systems, and even C-pap machines all from this battery system & an inverter without the need for a generator or mains power. Yes, you can help charge the system faster by also charging with either a small generator, your cars alternator or from 240volt mains power, although the Enerdrive system is well designed to self-generate power through solar panels limiting the need for using these other methods - perfect for free camping applications where 240V mains or generator usage is not allowed or not available.  Run times for each appliance will vary from a couple of hours to 24/7 depending on the amp draw and the amount of incoming power supply. 

 

Easy Battery Monitoring - No More Flat Batteries:

The Enerdrive system self-monitors the incoming power vs the outgoing power and displays this information via a wall mounted battery monitor screen in an easy to understand format, even to the point of 'hours of power' remaining at current usage rate, or if you are more technically minded you can monitor the 'power in' vs 'power out' displayed as Watts and Amps if you prefer. This will allow you run multiple appliances at once and monitor the power usage vs power generated so that you will never be caught short with a flat battery. The Enerdrive system is programmed to cut off power supply from the battery at 24% capacity to prolong the life of your lithium battery and a allow for a fast recharge. 

There are two different battery monitoring options with this bundle - the Enerdrive ePRO Plus Battery Monitor or the Enerdrive Simarine PICO 3 Battery Monitor.

The ePRO Plus is the basic monitoring option, which displays the battery % capacity and current flow.

The Simarine display is a high tech LCD screen, which displays the battery % capacity and loads. It also has the ability to monitor extra features including monitoring tank levels (e.g. water tank, waste tank etc) and temperatures.

 

FAST SIMULTANEOUS CHARGING  - Approx 1.5 Hr full system recharge

This complete lithium system has the capability to simultaneously charge the battery through multiple charging sources. It is possible to achieve a full system recharge in approximately 1.5 hrs when combining all charging sources (AC, DC and Solar) simultaneously thanks to the rapid charging capabilities of lithium. Lithium batteries accept a higher charging voltage input compared to AGM and can uphold that higher rate of charge without tapering off until 100% full battery capacity is achieved.  

Charge rates: 

  • Up to 60 amps per hour are put back into your batteries through the AC Charger when supplied by a 240 volt generator or mains power.   
  • Up to 35 amps per hour are put back into your batteries through the Solar Regulator supplied by the Solar Panels (4x 180W Fixed Solar Panels)
  • Up to 40 amps per hour are put back into the batteries through the Enerdrive DC2DC charger powered by your cars alternator. 

Whilst travelling to your destination, you can charge through both the solar panels and your cars alternator at the same time delivering a total of up to 75 amps power per hour back into your batteries. (Most other lithium systems do not have this capability).

 

EXTERNAL BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (BMS)

Enerdrives own patented Advanced External Battery Management System (BMS) and Active Balance controller combined with their White Lithium Power Pack Series Batteries, is the key to protecting and maximising the performance and longevity of their lithium battery systems - even when 2 or more batteries are connected in parallel. Every lithium battery needs to have a BMS incorporated to balance the voltage of the cells during charging, discharging and storing for safe and efficient operation. It is the unique design of the Advanced External BMS that Enerdrive provide (which includes a connected Dynamic Active Balance Controller) which results in superior performance over any other lithium setup on the market.  

Most lithium batteries incorporate an internal BMS that is classed as a passive type balancing system, whilst it still achieves its goal of balancing the cells for safe operation, it is not the most efficient way of balancing cells and not the best way to prolong your batteries life expectancy - especially when multiple lithium batteries are combined to make up the system.  Enerdrive have designed a class leading External BMS with an Active Balance Controller that does not use a passive balancing method, instead they use the Dynamic Energy Transfer method that is only available to be used with the white series power pack lithium batteries from Enerdrive. This is a far superior means of balancing cells that will make your battery (or multiple batteries) far more efficient in retaining charge, producing less heat and prolonging the life of your batteries long term.  

 

Enerdrive Pro Series Lithium Batteries:

Lithium Ion batteries have a high energy density and are perfect for cyclic applications. They offer savings of up to 70% in volume and weight compared to traditional lead-acid batteries. Lithium Ion batteries offer ultra-fast charging and discharging, high efficiency and three times as many charging cycles (>1500 full cycles) compared to traditional lead acid batteries.

Enerdrive’s Pro Series Lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) is the safest of the mainstream li-ion battery types. The nominal voltage of each cell is 3,2V. A 12,8V Enerdrive battery therefore consists of 4 cells connected in series.

All lithium Ion batteries require a battery management system (BMS). There is no way around this. There are numerous examples of catastrophic failures where no BMS has been used.

The Enerdrive Pro Series Lithium battery packs incorporate Active Cell Balancing across the range. The balancing method used is Dynamic Energy Transfer. This allows for automatic balancing of the cells during charging, discharging and storage. Any cells with high voltage density will transfer energy to the lower cells in the pack. This method of cell balancing utilises the energy within the battery pack to balance the cells unlike passive balancing systems which bleed this excess energy off as heat to keep the battery balanced at the top end of the charging cycle, wasting energy already stored within the battery.

The Enerdrive Active Balancing System also incorporates individual cell “Hi -Voltage & Low-Voltage” disconnect feature to interface with the Enerdrive Advanced BMS Driver, switching (off/on) of charging sources & consumer loads. Running Active Cell Balancing allows Enerdrive to parallel and series connect multiple batteries within the system. This offers 12v, 24v, 36v &,48v systems with up to the possibility of 1500Ah+ capacity.

The installation kit incorporates the Enerdrive Advanced BMS Rely Driver, ePRO or Simarine monitor, Main DC Fuse and a load disconnect latching relay. This kit is connected to the battery and designed to work hand in hand with the batteries Active Balancing System for controlling charging and discharging sources for ultimate protection of your investment.

Many companies will just sell you the battery and if lucky, you will get a BMS incorporated. They neglect to tell you that disconnecting loads and charging sources at the critical times requires more equipment to be installed to manage these operations.

 

Enerdrive ePOWER 12V 40A DC to DC Battery Charger:
 

The Enerdrive ePOWER DC2DC Battery Charger is a fully automatic multistage, multi input battery charger with the ability to charge from either an alternator linked to a battery; or via solar power with the in built Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Solar Controller.

Enerdrive ePOWER 12V 60A AC to DC Battery Charger:

The Enerdrive ePOWER 60A Battery Charger is a fully automatic, “set and forget” charger. It is designed to quickly and accurately recharge your batteries using algorithms that help maximise service life. Multistage smart charging technology enables the charger to be connected to your battery banks permanently.

As dictated by battery manufacturer’s recommendations, batteries require a multistage charge sequence for perfect, fast and accurate charging.

The Enerdrive ePOWER charger can be programmed for Lithium batteries. This setting delivers the full rated output of the charger constantly with the charger switching to power supply mode once the voltage peak is met (indicating a full battery bank).

The ePRO PLUS is the latest generation, highly advanced battery monitor. It consists of an intelligent shunt and a remote control display unit. The shunt has a Grid Optimized footprint for perfect integration with our DC Modular products.

This advanced battery monitor not only shows the true state of charge of your battery system. It also offers a large amount of additional features to optimally supervise your battery system and control external equipment. The ePRO PLUS is compatible with lead based and Lithium batteries (LiFePO4).

The ePRO PLUS can monitor up to three battery banks. The inputs for battery bank 2 and 3 can also be configured for other purposes, like mid-point voltage measurement, keyswitch input, setup lock or backlight control. The ePRO PLUS battery monitor can measure DC currents up to 600Amps (500Amp continuous) and voltages up to 70Vdc. So any lead- or lithium based battery from 12V up to 48V can be monitored.

The installation time is minimal, requiring only one supply wire to the intelligent shunt base and a single ‘QuickLink’ cable between the shunt base and the control/display unit (CDU). Additionally, the battery minus cable must be interrupted in order to insert the shunt into the high current circuit. The fused supply wire and the QuickLink cable are both included in the package, avoiding the need for a separate connection kit.

It’s water and dust proof and can be mounted both indoors and outdoors. The screen brightness is automatically adjusted with a light sensor.
