Lake Moogerah isn’t your ordinary lake. In the 1960s, a dam was built across Reynolds Creek near Boonah Township, with the objective of providing water to farmlands not only along Reynolds Creek, but also along Warrill Creek and Warrill Valley. This un-gated dam is known as the Moogerah Dam, and its impounded reservoir goes by the name of Lake Moogerah.

Which is why the Lake Moogerah Caravan Park was set up in the area, and hosts countless tourists and weekend campers every year. The Lake Moogerah Caravan Park has come to be synonymous with the idea of holidaying at Lake Moogerah. It offers the full range of activities, from skiing, kayaking and swimming, to fishing (with permits), picnicking, and basking in the idyllic natural environs of the lake. Campers can also expect to catch some of the best sunrises and sunsets in Australia.

Sculpt your Lake Moogerah experience the way you like. Its proximity to Brisbane and the Gold Coast place it perfectly for quick weekend getaways. The nearby Boonah Township also offers tons of activities ranging from shopping, to gallery hopping, to bi-monthly county markets. What’s more, if you visit during Easter, you can attend the annual open-air Moogerah Passion Play, a feast for the eyes against the backdrop of lovely Moogerah sunsets.
