Exploring The Fiamma Awning Range

Exploring The Fiamma Awning Range

Fiamma Awnings have been in the caravan market for many years, first originating in Europe. They have become increasingly popular in the Australian market in recent years due to their versatility and ease of use. Caravanners often choose a cassette awning over a roll out due to it’s compact and dust free design. However, Fiamma offer a range of models so let’s break them down:

Fiamma Awning F45

The F45 Fiamma awning range is a cassette/ box awning generally available in an aluminium white, black and titanium. Available in lengths from 1.9m up to 5.5m with varying colour available in the awning fabric. The F45 is designed to be installed on a flat wall with supplied brackets. For those wanting to install on a bus/ van there are alternative brackets available to purchase separately.

The Fiamma F45 Awning includes a wind out handle which simply attaches to a winding mechanism on the right-hand side of the awning. Simply wind out the awning to approximately a meter, then drop down your pre fitted legs stored in the front of the cassette. Continue to wind out your awning to its extended length, guy your legs down or attach back to the caravan and you’re ready to relax and enjoy the outdoors. For added convenience Fiamma also have available to purchase separately a motor kit to make the awning extend and retract automatically.

Fiamma Awning F80

For the motorhome and bus lovers with little wall space the Fiamma F80 Awning provides a sleek and elegant option with its roof mounted design and low profile. Unlike the F45 the F80 doesn’t include brackets, instead these need to be selected based on your specific installation ie roof configuration or vehicle model. The setup and working of the F80 are like the F45, simply wind out, fold out legs and make sure everything is secured. The difference between the two is merely just how the awning is mounted to the vehicle.

Fiamma Awning Caravan Store

The Fiamma Caravan Store Bag Awning are often seen installed on Jayco campers and smaller motorhomes. These are stored in a bag attached to the camper via a sail track and the fabric is hand rolled onto a casing that also stores the legs. This is a cheap and reliable solution for an awning, however it does generally take two people to setup and is more labour intensive than the F45 and F80. Quite often customers will upgrade from a bag awning to a cassette simply because of ease of use.

How To Measure An Awning?

If you’re replacing an existing Fiamma Awning all that's required is to measure the outer casing's length from the front to the rear of the van. For example if your awning measures 348cm you will require the F45s 3.5m. Check out the table below for more information on sizing:

If you are installing a new awning there are a few factors you need to consider.

  • Where do you plan on installing a new awning ie finding the total length needed

  • The best mounting points to anchor the awning with brackets

  • Are windows and doors suitably protected under your awning?

  • Height of your installation so your door can safely open without causing damage to the awning fabric

  • Keep in mind where your roof racks are situated and how it will impact your awning install

Adding Accessories?

To make the most out for your Fiamma awning and to make life just that little bit easier check out the following awning accessories:

  • Motor kit: This helps transform your awning to fully automatic.

  • Fiamma tie down: This is very important to use to secure and care for your awning.

  • Fiamma awning LED light kit: Creating extra light, perfect for using your awning at night

  • Fiamma fast clip system: This is a Fiamma branded anti-flap kit that provides strength and lengthens life on your awning. It also allows you to install walls on your awning to expand your outdoor living area.

  • Fiama rafter (curved): Produces tension on the awning to help with rain run off and over stretching of your awning fabric.

  • Fiamma rain guard: These guards are available in three sizes and are designed to help keep water run off from the back of the awning into the under covered area.
