Victron Orion 24/12V 70A DC to DC Converter Non Isolated with Binding Post, High Power
The remote on-off eliminates the need for a high current switch in the input wiring. The remote on-off can be operated with a low power switch or by the engine run/stop switch (see manual). All models with adjustable output can also be used as a battery charger For example to charge a 12 Volt starter or accessory battery in an otherwise 24V system. All models with adjustable output can be paralleled to increase output current. Up to five units can be connected in parallel.

Victron 24v to 12v DC DC converter

We travel a lot in our Motorhome( except during covid ) and our power requirements are quite large. Our system has 3000w of Solar ( Motorhome and Trailer ) with victron mppt controllers and 1200a of lithium batteries broken in two so 600a in each system ( 2 × 300a 12v batteries ) the problem I had was keeping them in balance as running batteries in parallel will always go out of balance over time ( We damaged one because of this ). The mppt controllers were showing the batteries as full charged but in reality it was only one at 100%. We now run the batteries in series "24v" and the battery balance problem is solved but all our inverters and appliances are 12v, we tried with 2 x enerdrive 24/12 60a converters ($850) in parallel "120a" to run everything ( washer dryer and fridges ) but they kept tripping so we bought 3 x Victron 24/12-70 converters ( $600 with change ) for that part of the system instead and run them in parallel "210a" and they perform well beyond expectations, we now can and have run a 8.5kg washer, 9kg condenser dryer, Airstill ( for bourbon) and two 100 Lt fridges with one being at -17 deg all at the same time and not only do the converters have no problems with the load they run really cool as well. We are so impressed by the Victron range we are changing out all our other solar controller products with Victron and I highly recommend Victron products. We have now purchased three more converters for the other half of the system. As a side note the system running at 12v was achieving up to 7000wh per day and now we are achieving up to 12000wh per day. All solar panels have upgraded PV cable to 6mm².
